Volunteers are the heart of Rocky Top! Their time, their expertise, their willingness to learn, their ability to relate to riders and family members, and their selflessness make our volunteers essential to every one of our programs.

During the past year, 200 volunteers donated over 15,700 hours of their time to help with everything from leading horses to side walking;  grooming to facility maintenance; filing to computer entry.  Volunteer orientations are scheduled regularly as well as advanced training for volunteers who work directly with the horses as a leader or who participate on the horse schooling committee.

Our volunteers not only work at the Center itself, but provide manpower for the many outside activities that our riders are involved in. Our volunteers help with  the Chisholm Challenge competition for special needs riders held in January in connection with the Fort Worth Stock Show, as well as area and state Special Olympics. Our volunteers also help with at  numerous health fairs throughout the area. And of course volunteers are always needed for our annual fund raising events.
