A New Brand of Therapy
Rocky Top Therapy Center was established in 1990 as a therapeutic riding center to serve
the physically and mentally challenged communities in the North Central
Texas area.A ranch setting is utilized where the horse becomes an
invaluable tool in assisting with comprehensive rehabilitation for physically, mentally or emotionally challenged individuals and youth at
risk.
One of the objectives of Rocky Top Therapy Center is to make
services available to all individuals who may benefit, regardless of
their financial circumstances. To meet this challenge requires community
support with volunteers and donations.
Rocky Top Therapy Center is a fully accredited premier operating
center of NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association)
and supported by T.R.A.I.L., Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3)
organization. For more information:

Larry Mahan
Honorary Trail Boss

He still reigns as one of the all-time greatest World
Record winners in the history of rodeo. At the time of his
retirement from rodeo in 1977, Mahan had already established the Larry
Mahan Boot Collection, which eventually grew into an entire line of hats
and stylish western wear and is still one of the finest in the country.
Whether in the rodeo arena or in an apparel mart signing autographs,
Mahan maintains a star status as a “real cowboy” with all the flare that
is usually associated with the cowboys who rose to fame on the silver
screen. Mahan is still very much a part of the horse and cattle
industry, raises registered Texas Longhorn cattle and quarter horses.
Mahan also trains and is active in cutting horse shows. Mahan
continues to stay close to the rodeo world and assists with television
commentary whenever his schedule allows. He was awarded the Lane
Frost Memorial in May, 1991. |
